What are the responsibilities and job description for the Die Maintenance position at Pacific Manufacturing Tennessee?
I. Primary Responsibilities
· Inspect and repair dies as needed when problem occurs or through the scheduled PM system
· Ensure that dies are correct to produce a quality part and increase productivity
· Ensure that all equipment used to move and repair dies are inspected at the correct frequency and are in safe, working condition
· Take appropriate measures to prevent recurrence when Die is breakdown or other problem occurs
· Implementing Kaizen (continuous improvement) activities
· Help other departments as needed
II. Essential Functions
· Review PM list to determine what dies are scheduled and/or dies that need repairs
· Conduct Kaizen (continuous improvement) and/or repair when an emergency machine breakdown occurs
· Repair the Die according to your supervisor's instructions
· Contact your supervisor when an issue is happen
· Always have a problem consciousness and try to improve skills and knowledge
· Visually inspect dies for chips, cracks, or defects
· Repair dies using appropriate tools and methods
· Inspect all equipment used to move and repair dies to ensure that they are in safe, working condition
· All other tasks assigned to associate
· Participate in 5S activities
· Conform to all company and OSHA safety requirements
· Follow all tasks in a quality and detail oriented manner
III. Qualifications and Requirements
· High school diploma or GED
· Vocational school/trade school diploma, preferred
· Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical functions and use mathematical tools including a tape measure
· It is desirable to have knowledge of Die
· Who able to work with willingness to improve skills and knowledge
· Tig welding experience
· Use of basic hand tools such as allen wrenches, T-handles, and punches
· Use of powered tools such as grinders, lathes, drill press, and mills
· Ability to operate a crane
· Detail-oriented
· Excellent visual skills
· Willingness to cooperate, work, and communicate in a team environment
IV. Physical Requirement
· Ability to lift 32 pounds
· Ability to move containers
· Ability to walk, stand, and carry materials as well as stoop, kneel, bend at waist and climb ladders and equipment for at least 8 hours
· Ability to operate in repetitive motions for at least 8 hours
V. Environmental Conditions
· Inside conditions
· Exposed to heat from welding
· Exposed to some processing oils and weld sparks
· Exposed to noise
· Safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and hat are required at all times
· Kevlar sleeves and gloves will be provided to prevent exposure of steel and weld sparks onto skin
· Uniforms will be provided
