Job Overview
The Person in Charge (PIC) plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our retail environment. The PIC will report and work directly with the Store Manager and will be responsible for the store in times when the Store Manager is not present.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the store, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Manage employee schedules and oversee payroll processes.
- Conduct employee orientation and training to ensure staff are well-equipped to perform their roles.
- Assist in the recruiting process to build a strong team.
- Maintain high standards of customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Oversee inventory management and ensure proper handling of merchandise.
- Utilize POS systems effectively for transactions and reporting.
- Collaborate with the assistant manager to implement marketing strategies that drive sales.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the grocery store environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail management or a related field.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and employee management.
- Experience with interviewing and recruiting staff is preferred.
- Familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus.
- Proficiency in using POS systems for sales transactions.
