We are currently seeking full-time and part-time grocery delivery drivers available to work on Bainbridge Island and in Poulsbo. Drivers will be stationed out of our location on Bainbridge Island.

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, and ideally 25 years or older.

Ideally, Drivers should be able to drive manual transmission vehicles.

Drivers should expect to start working 24-40 hours per week, 3-5 days per week.

Compensation is $22/hr (starting) tips (avg. $10-12/hr).

So, among various environmental initiatives, we operate electric vehicles for almost all deliveries, which means delivery drivers should expect to spend much of their time driving electric delivery vans.

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Logistics Assistant

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

INDIRECT REPORTING: Adventure Coordinator

SUPERVISES: N/A

LOCATION: Bainbridge Island, WA

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide direct support to the Operations Manager in executing company operations, including, but not limited to: grocery delivery, operations management, vehicle management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Safety

• Consider personal, office, vehicle, shop, and facility safety at all times.
• Read and understand the Irregular Ops protocols in the Client Relations and Delivery Process (CRDP) document.
• Adhere to and support the practices in the Company Safety Management System.
• Inventory and maintain vehicle first aid kit and roadside kit.
• Utilize PPE as appropriate and help identify any additional items needed.
• Support the Company’s Drug-Free requirement.
• STOP WORK – when a safety issue or concern is encountered.
• REPORT – any and all safety concerns.
• IMMEDIATELY ACT – to resolve any safety issues or concerns.

Customer Interaction

• Wear any Company uniform assigned to you in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.
• Greet all customers, vendors, and visitors.
• Help maintain positive client relations.
• Help ensure all customer inquiries are responded to, as a backup to the Operations Coordinator.
• Assist with logistics and delivery services.
• Follow protocols described in the Client Relations and Delivery Process (CRDP) document.

Marketing and Communications

• Participate in maintaining vendor and affiliate relationships.

Participate in Guerrilla marketing activities.

• Stock various affiliate locations with marketing materials.
• Attend Company promotional events as assigned.

Delivery & Logistics Operations

• Complete daily vehicle inspection and checklist.
• Log and report any vehicle issues.
• Take corrective action when possible.
• Complete vehicle delivery preparations. (See driver checklist)
• Assist monthly and quarterly vehicle inspections.
• Complete necessary fueling, charging, equipment management, and daily cleaning of vehicles.
• Carryout more extensive periodic (weekly) cleaning and washing of vehicles.
• Carry out driving duties.
• Assist dispatch duties as assigned.

Collect and file daily delivery reports on a regular basis.
Fleet Readiness

• Assist with regular Quality Assurance evaluations and help track vehicle condition.

Administrative

• Assist with the development of documents and correspondence as needed / directed.
• Other Duties as Assigned: Carry out other duties and special projects as assigned by the Logistics Coordinator or General Manager.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work will be conducted indoors and outdoors. Employee must be able to drive a motor vehicle and should be capable of, or able to learn to drive manual transmission. Physical activities will include standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, and twisting. This job requires finger dexterity, the ability to manipulate large and small objects, the ability to lift 60 lbs, along with the ability to see, hear, and speak clearly.

EDUCATION / LICENSES / SKILLS:

• Minimum requirement of a High School diploma. Associates Degree preferred.
• Strong organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• High computer literacy.
• Strong team skills.
• Driver’s License (required)

EXPERIENCE:

• 2 years customer service experience.
• Delivery driving experience a plus.

ATTIRE:

• Company uniform shirt when required.
• Pacific Northwest business casual.
