Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead our accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support strategic financial planning. The Controller will oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory compliance, budget management, and internal controls. This role is critical to maintaining the financial health of the organization and driving efficient processes that align with our business goals. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about contributing to a mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the accounting team, providing leadership, coaching, and development to ensure a high-performing department.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Manage cash flow and banking relationships to ensure adequate liquidity and financial stability.
- Evaluate and implement financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to leadership to support growth initiatives and business planning.
- Ensure compliance with tax filings and other regulatory reporting requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems).
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience in Healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
