Summary Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Receives and samples incoming seed, inspecting for inconsistencies.
Maintains clean work area.
Inspects and reports storage and facility problems and concerns.
Reads schedules, customer orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas.
Sorts and places materials or items on pallets, or in bags, boxes, or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or code.
Fills requisitions or requests for seed and distributes items to workers or customers.
Marks materials with identifying information.
Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
Weighs or counts items for distribution.
Compiles worksheets or tickets related to incoming or outgoing specifications.
Operates forklift or other motorized vehicle to load or unload seed.
Maintains inventory records relevant to receiving and/or loading seed.
Lifts or moves containers such as buckets, bags, etc. between 25 – 50 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds on occasion.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software and Order processing systems.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver's license not required but preferred; forklift certification not required but beneficial.
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to work extended hours including weekends during seasonal needs.
