The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of genetics, biology research, and data visualization, with the ability to create compelling and accurate designs that effectively communicate scientific information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing Scientific Materials: Create high-quality visual assets for biology papers, posters, presentations, infographics, and other educational or promotional materials, focusing on clear communication of complex scientific concepts.
- Data Visualization: Develop visually appealing and accurate charts, graphs, and other data-driven visuals, with an emphasis on genomics, bioinformatics, and biological research data.
- Collaboration with Researchers: Work closely with biologists, researchers, and scientists to understand research findings and translate them into visually engaging and informative designs that are both accurate and accessible.
- Scientific Illustration: Design and create diagrams, illustrations, and schematics that represent biological processes, genomic data, or experimental workflows.
- Maintain Scientific Accuracy: Ensure that all designs maintain a high level of scientific accuracy while adhering to best practices in data visualization.
- Adapt Designs for Multiple Platforms: Create materials suitable for print and digital platforms, including scientific journals, posters for conferences, educational websites, and social media.
- Stay Current with Design Trends: Keep up to date with the latest trends in scientific communication, genomics, and data visualization techniques, and apply innovative approaches to design.
- Editing and Revisions: Revise designs based on feedback from researchers and stakeholders, ensuring that the final product aligns with both the scientific goals and aesthetic standards.
