Job Title: Technician
Location: Auburn, WA
Employment Type: On-call (Monday - Friday, some weekends)
Job Summary:
The Technician is responsible for performing biohazard cleanup services with professionalism, efficiency, and strict adherence to safety protocols. The Technician works on-site as part of a cleanup team, ensuring that jobs are completed to the highest standards while maintaining compliance with company and regulatory safety guidelines. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and strong teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleanup Operations:
- Perform biohazard cleanup services, including trauma scene restoration, infectious disease decontamination, hoarder home cleanouts, and more.
- Assist with other cleanup tasks such as graffiti removal, trash outs, post-construction cleaning, and demolition cleanup.
- Ensure the proper handling, removal, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to OSHA, EPA, and company safety protocols at all times.
- Properly and consistently use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in regular safety meetings and training.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Take and upload accurate before-and-after photos of job sites.
- Complete required job documentation, including checklists and reports.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of tasks performed.
Equipment and Resource Management:
- Ensure that tools, equipment, and vehicles are cleaned and maintained.
- Properly store tools and materials after each job.
- Report any equipment issues to the supervisor.
Client Interaction:
- Interact respectfully and professionally with clients, demonstrating empathy and discretion.
- Address client concerns on-site when needed and escalate issues to the supervisor as necessary.
Team Collaboration:
- Work effectively as part of a cleanup team, following the directions of the Senior Technicians, Site Leads, and Project Manager.
- Assist team members to complete all jobs efficiently and safely.
Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- OSHA 10 or HAZWOPER certification required.
- First Aid/CPR and additional job related certification is a plus.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in biohazard cleanup, environmental services, or related field.
- Willingness to undergo training, certification, and continuing education as required.
- Have a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Able to follow detailed instructions and all safety protocols.
- Problem solving skills and ability to adapt as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds consecutively.
- Comfortable working in hazardous environments with appropriate PPE for extended periods.
- Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods.
- Can work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Reliable transportation, clean driving record, and ability to travel to job sites across King, Pierce, and Snohomish Counties.
