We are currently seeking a skilled Pain Management Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated team.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Pain Management Nurse Practitioner will work closely with our pain management specialists to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and chronic pain conditions. This role involves providing direct patient care, assisting with interventional procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized pain management plans incorporating pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches.
- Experience with joint and trigger point injections is a plus.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (X-rays, MRIs, laboratory studies) to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Educate patients on pain management strategies, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and facilitate referrals to other specialists when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and practice protocols.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to enhance patient care and optimize treatment outcomes.
- Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education activities to stay current with pain management best practices.
- Understand and comply with insurance guidelines to ensure service approvals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current California state licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Previous experience in pain management, orthopedics, or a related specialty is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in conducting physical examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests, and formulating differential diagnoses.
- Experience or willingness to train in interventional pain procedures (e.g., injections, nerve blocks).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel to other Pacific Pain locations.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred.
