Starting Wage: $19.00 per hour, goes up to $20.00 per hour at 1040 hours (aprox 6 months at full time)
Weekend availability preferred

You will be answering phone calls, dispatching security officers, and assisting field security supervisors in providing quality control and oversight to security officers.
The Communications Officers will maintain regular communication with field officers and supervisors, receive calls from people who need assistance, and dispatch officers to assist them.

SKILLS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Keyboard at 45 words per minute or faster (applicants will be tested before the interview)
- Ability to be organized and prioritize daily work tasks
- Ability to enter data efficiently and accurately into a corporate database
- Have a demonstrated working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Pass a pre-employment drug test and participate in a random drug testing program
- Availability for working day shift, swing shift, graveyard shift, and weekends
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED
- Have excellent communication skills, including fluency in both spoken and written English
- Have the integrity to work solo for long periods
- Have a verifiable work history that includes working in an office environment and a leadership or supervisory position for at least one year
- Possess a positive and energetic attitude, staying calm under pressure
- Experience working with and dealing with large numbers of employees
- Desire to grow with the company, willing to take on enhanced responsibilities and make a long-term commitment

We promote our Communications Officers to operational, supervision, and management positions; we never hire outside people for these positions, which means that if you want a long-term career with PPS, we will work with you and give you the opportunity to grow within the company.
This position also requires a security certification in the state of Oregon (DPSST). We have state-certified trainers. PPS provides the state’s14-hour certification class free of charge. We will assist you with completing the application paperwork and fees for the security certification application process.
Some criminal convictions may prevent you from becoming certified as a security officer. Talk to us about any convictions you may have, and we will let you know if they are disqualifiers.
