What you will do:
We are currently seeking a motivated and customer-focused Purchasing Agent to join the Pacific Plumbing Supply team in our Seattle or Auburn location! As a Purchasing Agent for Pacific Plumbing Supply, you will work closely with our in-house purchasing team to facilitate the procurement of material for our branch locations in Washington, Montana & Alaska.

- Create and manage purchase orders and transfers, and review requirements with an eye for detail
- Manage vendor performance by creating working relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance with contract terms
- Address purchase orders, receiving and invoicing discrepancies, and trace delinquent arrivals.
- Build strategic working relationships
- Understand technical terminology, industry trends, purchasing & inventory management, and warehouse operations
- Leverage available resources to complete assignments timely and efficiently
- Initiate action to correct problems and notify others as appropriate
- Generate relevant options for addressing problems/opportunities
- Be flexible and review different angles to achieve acceptable results
- Use good negotiation skills
- Demonstrate honesty and integrity and fulfill all commitments.
- Focus on continuing education to remain current and knowledgeable
Who we are looking for:
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Buyer/Purchaser (2 years preferred) and 2 years of progressively responsible experience (3 years preferred)
- Demonstrate proficient computer skills with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP software to leverage technology systems and procedures. Experience with Epicor’s Prophet 21 Systems is preferred. Proficient math skills to facilitate accurate and quick assessment of data.
- Product/applications experience required
- Wholesale distribution experience preferred, retail or manufacturing industry experience a plus.
- Multi-site/multi-location inventory management experience required
- High School Diploma/GED required; associate degree preferred
