IT Support Technician Job Description
We are looking for technically skilled individuals with good problem-solving abilities and customer service skills for the positions of IT Support Technician for our growing company. The duties include being a reference point for all IT related queries at the user level, responding to user needs in a timely manner and ensuring the optimal running of all systems, among other technical duties.
IT Support Technicians are expected to display good customer service skills as well as being able to work independently and as a team. They will interact with colleagues from various departments and executive levels. They are required to listen to their technical needs, understand their problems and implement solutions.
Required hours are mainly Monday through Friday, though some nights and weekends may be required.
They must be able to physically work in our Hilo office, and there is no relocation reimbursement.
IT Support Technician Responsibilities:
- Install and configure hardware and software components to ensure usability
- Repair and/or replace damaged hardware
- Upgrade entire systems to enable compatible software on all workstations
- Install and upgrade anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level
- Perform tests and evaluations on new software and hardware
- Able to perform basic troubleshooting / repair / install low-voltage datacom / telecom cabling
- Provide remote and in-person support to end-users
- Establish good relationships with all departments and colleagues
IT Support Technician Requirements:
- Computer literate with basic PC / macOS / iOS / computer knowledge
- Experience with basic PC / mac troubleshooting, maintenance, and networking
- 2-years minimum experience required / 3-years preferred in computer networks and systems maintenance
- Basic knowledge of troubleshooting / repair / install low-voltage datacom / telecom Cabling
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Good problem-solving skills
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to use hand tools for on-site network cabling installation projects
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related MIS / IT field (preferred but not required)
Full time with benefits upon completion of probation.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
