Community Connections - Perhaps the most essential support PRSG provides is connecting the newest members of our community to more established individuals – not only our own staff but volunteers and members of other organizations.
Community Legal Services - Our newest pillar! - The Community Legal Clinic (CLC) assists in bridging the fundamental gaps in Oregon’s immigration legal landscape by providing low-barrier legal support to migrants through Oregon’s burgeoning Universal Representation program.
Community Wellness - Supports the physical, mental, and emotional health of our community members. They provide healthcare navigation, hold workshops to teach community essential health skills and knowledge, and are the first point of contact for many of our community members.
Community Education - Offers support to the refugee community to increase access to each individual’s unique education and career goals, with a primary focus on youth advocacy and education, English language skills, digital literacy, and professional certification.
Community Aid - Focuses on direct assistance to the most vulnerable members of the refugee community through providing emergency financial funds, monthly goods donation bags, and economic mobility opportunities.

Job Opportunity
Seeking a full-time Community Health Worker with experience working in marginalized communities, competency with trauma-informed care and a passion for refugees and asylum seekers. Reporting to the Community Wellness Director, the Community Health Worker will serve as a coordinator and advocate for health and social services for community members. They will help families access support and smooth the way to better care and outcomes through regular communication and consistent meetings with community members and their assigned healthcare providers in person and via phone.
Essential Functions
- Promote the health and well-being of community members by providing opportunities to increase health literacy, coordinating health care and organizing wellness groups
- Develop plans of care (POC) that includes clearly defined and appropriate referrals and access to medical assistance or insurance to sufficiently address the health needs of the community member
- Use evidence-based interventions or methods that are promising practices to provide support in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner and conduct pre- and post-assessments to gauge the value of the activity
- Use established criteria to identify and prioritize those in need of receiving healthcare services
- Identify goals based on the individual’s need and then develop customized activities catered toward the specific needs of the individual then track progress and outcomes towards identified goals
- Work collaboratively with staff in other PRSG programs to ensure holistic support is offered and provided to community members
- Provide OHP navigation to eligible community members and work with care coordinators to connect community members to healthcare support services

This is a full-time, salaried non-exempt position. Benefits include : 160 hours of PTO / yr, 18 paid holidays, 2 floating holidays, a 401K option with up to 5% employer match (100% at 3 and 50% at remaining 2) and a 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision benefits plan. Employment includes a Professional Development budget for learning opportunities and membership in professional organizations / associations. PRSG issues a cell phone and laptop to each employee. Mileage will be reimbursed at the federal GSA rate. Work Environment
The work will primarily be performed in the field, with occasional work at PRSG’s office, remote work from home, and at the homes of clients and in the community as needed. There may be times where in-person office meetings are required.
