- Position SummaryPSI is the largest privately owned shipyard in Hawaii, with two of the largest dry docks in the state. We have been in business since 1944 and have a large labor force of skilled craftsman with a full support staff of professionals who comprise of engineering, project management, QA, EHS, accounting, contracts, and human resources.We are seeking an Estimating Coordinator to join our Programs Division. The position will report to the Estimating Manager and is responsible for providing high-level organizational support to the Estimating Department.The ideal candidate will have a strong administrative background, exceptional customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written. The candidate must also be comfortable interacting with a variety of different departments, have strong critical thinking skills, is self-motivated, flexible and adaptable, and is able to perform well in fast-paced work environments.The Estimating Coordinator must be detail-oriented, have the ability to multitask, a quick-learner and have strong computer skills, to include experience with Microsoft Office Programs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform administrative duties such as acknowled ging receipt of emails and quotes, organizing references, coordinating department meetings, initializing project files, and account codesSend, receive, and document subcontractor requests for quotesMaintain and update the Department proposal log and other spreadsheets / reportsReceive and disseminate customer requests for proposals, monitor government websites for potential opportunitiesRespond to subcontractor questions / inquiries, via email or phoneAbility to manage multiple projects and assignments with excellent accuracyPerform other duties as assignedEducation / Training / Skills : Bachelors Degree preferred3-5 years of administrative / clerical experience, preferably in the shipyard industry is desirableExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skills, great attitude and work ethic, and exceptional teamwork skillsQualification / Requirements : Adaptable to work schedule flexibility is highly desiredMust show proof of legal right to work in the United States and US Citizenship due to security clearance required for base accessMust be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to Navy baseAll candidates must submit to and pass a post-offer drug screening and background checkValid State of Hawaii drivers license in good standing, class 3 or higherOur ValuesLegacy : Family-owned throughout its history, PSI strives to fulfill the goals that motivated our founder in 1944 : we dedicate ourselves wholly to caring for our customers so that they can continue to serve our community.Commitment : PSI approaches every project with teamwork, determination, and focus.
