Reports To : Estimating Manager
Position Summary :
PSI is the largest privately owned shipyard in Hawaii, with two of the largest dry docks in the state. We have been in business since 1944 and have a large labor force of skilled craftsman with a full support staff of professionals who comprise of Engineering, Project Management, QA, EHS, Accounting, Contracts, Estimating, and Human Resources.
Pacific Shipyards is searching for a highly qualified Government Estimating Supervisor to provide supervisory oversight of the Estimating Department. The Government Estimating Supervisor will oversee all Government Bids from cradle to grave; to include business development, planning and estimating, transition to project execution, and support during project execution.

- Seek out and drive new business development and sales opportunities.
- Manage existing business relationships and generate new leads.
- Review, maintain and analyze historical job cost data to develop and support estimating standards.
- Identify and impose intermediate deadlines to support overall goal of completing estimate and submitting to price proposal on required date.
- Thorough understanding of ship repair planning and estimating.
- Monitors progress of estimators, engineers, and purchasers to ensure deadlines are met
- Engages in business development and identifies new leads
- Oversee and handle all parts of the estimating process : bid jobs, interpret blueprints, perform ship checks, write specifications, determine pricing strategies, negotiate contracts, and assist with change orders.
- Ensures the assignment of work is delegated appropriately.
- Communicates regularly with executive management customers, vendors, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Stays abreast of developments in the industry.
- Assists with planning future staffing requirements.
- Performs final review and signs off on all bid packages submitted to government customers.
