Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing electrical systems and components for various projects. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing technical expertise. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical engineering and possess strong problem-solving and project-management skills with on-site experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· Engage in the design, planning & development, testing, procurement, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems and components including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
· Ensure system integration by collaborating with process engineers to integrate electrical systems into the overall facility design, ensuring alignment with process requirements.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process, mechanical, instrumentation, software, procurement, and manufacturing engineers as well as site teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical designs and operations.
· Ensure the integrity and safety of systems under operational conditions, including but not limited to extreme weather events, high/low-temperature environments, and corrosive environments, etc.
· Ensure compliance with the industry standards and regulations.
· Ensure maintainability and long-term reliability in design to minimize downtime and optimize operational performance.
· Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate design. Review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
· Utilize simulation and modeling tools to help optimize designs and systems as well as to improve performance as necessary.
· Oversee equipment installation, testing, and troubleshooting to confirm systems are operational and meet performance specifications before the facility becomes operational.
· Develop and implement routine and preventative maintenance programs.
· Monitor equipment performance and diagnose failures using tools as well as reading machine trends.
· Diagnose and resolve electrical issues during operations.
· Plan and supervise repair activities, including root cause failure analysis (RCFA).
· Evaluate and recommend system upgrades to enhance reliability or meet changing process demands. Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and incorporate innovative solutions into projects.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on power transmission, and electrical systems in refineries and/or power plants.
· Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC), experience with international/European codes and standards is preferred.
· Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP).
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
· Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
· Proven track record of successfully leading engineering projects from concept to completion.
· Experience in value engineering as well as proactive and periodical maintenance of electrical systems.
· Able to use site tools, measurement tools, health and safety equipment, and general office supplies. Able to use Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office programs, and Microsoft Outlook.
· Experience working with multinational teams is preferred.
· Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods in an environment typical of an office setting.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
- Ability to walk and stand on uneven ground, including, wet, muddy, or icy conditions.
- Site visits to the construction and refinery sites are required.
- Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for the task.
- Able to meet the physical demands of the position.
- A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
Work Environment
The work environment is typical of an office setting. Exposure to standard office equipment (computers, phones, copiers, printers, fax machines, etc.) Offices are heated and air-conditioned, with noise levels typical of an office environment. This position will require onsite visits to construction and refinery sites. Exposure to outdoor elements including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind. Sounds typical of construction, refinery, and cogeneration facilities as well as exposure to construction machinery.

Total Compensation Range: $100,431.00 - $188,309.00

Travel: Travel is required for this position either by vehicle or airplane.
Location: Green River, WY
Compensation for roles at Pacific Soda varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Pacific Soda provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado.
Salary : $100,431 - $188,309
