We are looking for a Senior Accountant for a healthcare company in the greater Sacramento area. This onsite role offers a collaborative work environment. Responsibilities include month-end close processes, financial statement preparation, journal entries, reconciliations, audits, and reporting.
Ideal candidates will have strong technical accounting skills, ERP system experience, and excellent interpersonal skills.
SALARY RANGE: $80,200 - $116,300 based on experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the month-end close process, including transaction research, balance sheet account reconciliations, journal entry preparation and posting, and ensuring timely completion of the close.
- Ensure all transactions and methodologies comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Prepare clear and concise monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, with accompanying supporting documentation.
- Prepare and input month-end journal entries into the ERP system, including expense accruals, prepaid amortization, and fixed asset depreciation.
- Prepare complex payroll journal entries and departmental/divisional allocations.
- Adhere to a month-end close checklist while continuously identifying areas for improvement, superior data sources, and strategies for timely closure.
- Serve as an administrator for the organization’s accounts payable automation system, performing all related duties, such as invoice imports, general ledger coding, obtaining approvals, and initiating vendor payments.
- Oversee the organization’s expense management platform, completing all expense reimbursement and business card transaction reconciliations.
- Report and process sales and use/excise taxes, handle monthly and quarterly state filings, and perform monopolistic workers compensation calculations.
- Assist with the documentation and testing of NetSuite enterprise reporting system (ERP) updates and modifications.
- Evaluate and establish processes that enhance the efficiency of accounting duties.
- Assist with the annual audit by gathering requested information and providing supporting documentation.
- Support financial leaders with related duties, impromptu reporting requests, and special projects as needed.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

- Prior employment with a publicly traded or private equity portfolio company.
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly Oracle NetSuite.
