Mechanic Helper Job Summary

As a Mechanic Helper, you will support experienced technicians by assisting with parts retrieval, basic mechanical tasks, and other shop duties. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with basic mechanical tasks including tire changes, oil changes, and greasing trucks.
- Perform routine inspections and assist with basic repairs on engines, transmissions, and other machinery under the guidance of senior mechanics.
- Help with routine maintenance, including fluid replenishment, lubrication, and component greasing.
- Support troubleshooting efforts and assist in resolving basic mechanical issues.
- Assist with repairs on hydraulic systems and, occasionally, vehicle painting.
- Keep accurate logs of work performed and report any issues using the company’s maintenance system.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with safety guidelines and use of required PPE.
- Perform additional duties as needed, including other shop-related tasks as assigned.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Experience or interest in mechanics (prior experience is a plus).
- Own or working to obtain a toolbox with basic hand tools.
- Ability to perform basic mechanical tasks like fluid changes and greasing components.
- Willingness to learn and assist higher-level mechanics with more advanced repairs.
- Excellent attendance and reliability.
- Consistent attendance with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in noisy environments with exposure to vibration and fumes.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to follow instructions.
- Current enrollment or recent completion of Diesel Technology or related courses is preferred!
- Basic mechanical aptitude or previous industry experience is a plus, but not required.
