What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operation Supervisor position at Pacific Transit?
Summary/Objective
The Operations Supervisor, in collaboration with the Operations Manager, oversees
fixed route and DAR operations to ensure goals and objectives are achieved, and
manages the performance of all Operators. Participates in annual and semiannual
evaluations of all Operators. Assists with the necessary Operator training and
professional development.
Essential Functions
Communicates priorities to direct, guide, motivate, and evaluate the work of
operators.
Coordinates fixed route and DAR activities with other support departments
such as human resources, finance, fleet, and facilities to ensure successful
operations.
Coordinates fixed route and DAR activities to ensure daily staff assignments
and efficiency.
Participates in the daily fixed route and DAR dispatch functions, including
professional development, coaching, observation, and support to driving
staff daily pre-route, post-route and during routes.
Updates Pass-Down Notes daily on OneNote
Participates in daily Operator check-ins at the beginning of each shift.
Required Skills/Abilities
Excellent supervisory and trainer skills
Knowledge of transit and paratransit operations. Knowledge of bus routing,
schedules, streets and locations within the agency’s service area.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, maintaining accurate
documentation and reporting.
Ability to tailor training to an employee’s unique training style.
Map reading techniques, ability to guide operators and passengers verbally
through transit system.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and other agency technologies and
software.

Pay: $69,451.00 - $80,398.00 per year
