Description Summary of Position:
This Student Affairs Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for assisting the Student Affairs Front Desk staff with the coordination of Student Affairs activities and serving as a resource for students, staff, faculty, and families seeking information.
Compensation/Hours:
This position pays $15.95 per hour. Hours assigned will be variable depending on student availability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend to the Student Affairs Front Desk as a resource for visitors by directing them towards pertinent information and services.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, email and phone correspondence, inventories, and general customer service.
- Process and distribute parking permit requests, renewals, and temporary parking permits for residential students, non-residential students, faculty, and staff.
- Assist various Student Affairs departments to advertise and process various seasonal tasks.
- Research Student Affairs policies and topics as needed to stay up to date with common practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
General office environment with moderate to extensive (seasonal) public contact. We are primarily looking for someone to work Tuesday and Thursday from 1-3, we are also looking for someone to be on call - With the potential of having a more solid schedule in Fall of 2025. (We are open Monday through Friday from 9am – 5pm.)
Qualifications:
- Ability to use Windows and Mac computer and related software required
- Knowledge of basic office machines and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
- Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills
- Customer service oriented
- Good management and organizational skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to function as a self-directed individual
- Punctual, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Familiarity with the University, as well as University policies and procedures
- Working knowledge of the residence halls
- On-campus living experience is preferred
- Previous office experience preferred
