We are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and are seeking a motivated individual to manage our insurance, billing, and related operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity for growth, with the potential to advance to Practice Manager. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage insurance claims and billing processes efficiently.
- Collaborate with our external billing shop to optimize payment processes and ensure timely reimbursements.
- Analyze payment trends to identify outliers and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement novel strategies for improving collections and maximizing revenue.
- Use data to guide contracting decisions and ensure favorable terms with health plans.
- Follow up diligently on claims and outstanding patient balances.
- Communicate effectively with patients to secure payments rightfully due to the practice.
- Engage assertively with health plans (and sometimes patients), defending our practice (David) against the Goliaths (health plans).
Required Skills:
- Familiarity with Medical Billing Systems: Understanding of current medical billing practices and insurance protocols.
- Epic EHR Proficiency: Experience working with Epic EHR is highly preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and use insights to guide decisions and improve processes.
- Proficiency in Excel and Other Spreadsheets: Strong ability to use spreadsheets for data analysis, tracking, and reporting.
- Communication Channels Knowledge: Familiarity with patient communication methods, including text messaging and MyChart messaging.
- Message Composition: Ability to compose messages that are directive yet inviting cooperation from patients.
- Quick Learner: Ability to quickly adapt to new systems and procedures.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and decision-making skills to address challenges effectively.
- Comfort with Confrontation: Must be comfortable asking patients for payments and defending the practice in disputes with health plans.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy in billing and business management tasks.
- Team Collaboration: Willingness to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
