Dynamic and innovative company dedicated to delivering lumber-related products and cutting-edge solutions to our clients is looking for a Fastener and Screw Development Engineer. As the Fastener and Screw Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing fasteners and screws to meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and efficiency. The Fastener and Screw Development Engineer will play a key role in driving product development and innovation. You will work closely with the manufacturing and sales team to provide technical support, training, and expertise to customers. Some travel is required to train the sales team and visit suppliers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, driving innovation in our product portfolio.

Product Development:
  • Lead the end-to-end development process of fasteners and screws, from conceptualization to prototyping and final production.
  • Conduct thorough research to stay abreast of industry trends, materials, and manufacturing processes relevant to fastener technology.
Design and Engineering:
  • Utilize CAD software and other engineering tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and technical documentation for new fasteners and screws and/or understanding of such.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure products meet aesthetic, functional, and manufacturability requirements.
Material Selection and Testing:
  • Evaluate and select appropriate materials for fastener production, considering factors such as strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and analysis to validate the performance and reliability of developed fasteners.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with manufacturing, quality control, and procurement teams to ensure seamless integration of new fastener designs into the production process.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to provide technical support and contribute to product positioning.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in fastener and screw development, with a strong portfolio of successful projects.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards related to fasteners.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or be authorized to work in the U.S
