What are the responsibilities and job description for the PBX Operator / Receptionist position at Pacifica Hospital of the Valley?
The PBX OPERATOR / RECEPTIONIST is for the timely answering and routing of all incoming telephone calls. In addition, functions as the Hospital’s front desk receptionist.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Operate telephone switchboard receiving incoming calls
- Use overhead paging, two-way radios, and other communication equipment to relay messages and transfer information
- Provide basic information regarding the Hospital to callers and visitors
- Announce and relay information concerning fire alarms, disasters, codes blue and other emergencies
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Education/GED preferred
- Previous PBX experience and clerical experience preferably in a healthcare/hospital environment
- Excellent communication skills including correct grammar and spelling
- Excellent customer service skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Must be able to work all shifts (as needed)
