What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician position at Pacifica Hospital of the Valley?
The PHARMACY TECHNICIAN , under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, performs assigned tasks related to medication distribution in an accurate, timely and safe manner. In addition, the PHARMACY TECHNICIAN is responsible for maintaining appropriate patient records and inventory control.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Fills physician orders, medication surgical kits, mediation carts and stock requisitions
- Replenishes medications in emergency drug containers and floor stock areas
- Maintains floor stock (restocking, removal of expired medication and stock rotation) of nursing areas and other medication areas. Stocks incoming medication deliveries. Processes returns and back orders in a timely manner.
- Prepares IV medication products within the guidelines of applicable laws and regulations.
