We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of:
SPEECH THERAPIST
The SPEECH THERAPIST is an integral member of the patient care team providing quality patient care through evaluation and treatment to patients with various diagnoses.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Examines, evaluates, plans and provides quality therapy treatments as prescribed that meet patient individual needs using recognized standards of professional practices
- Collaborates with the healthcare team and involves patient and/or family in the development and implementation of individualized therapy programs designed to restore, reinforce and enhance performance
- Identifies patient’s specific needs, making referrals to other disciplines to address the comprehensive needs of the patient
- Exercises independent judgement for clinical decision-making
- Completes necessary documentation and maintain clinical record for each client during the patient’s length of stay
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
- Valid CA Speech and language Pathology License
- Current CA Occupational Therapist License
- One (1) year experience preferred, NEW GRADUATES ENCOURAGED TO APPLY (prefer acute care internship experience)
- Working knowledge of standard occupational therapy practices, procedures and equipment
- Current AHA BLS certification
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
- Above average verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with all members of the patient care team, including physicians
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to exercise professional judgement in performing day-to-day activities, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures
