What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unit Clerk (Behavioral Health) position at Pacifica Hospital of the Valley?
The UNIT CLERK (BEHAVIORAL HEALTH) is responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties related the updating and organizing of information on the nursing units. The duties of the UNIT Clerk include, but are not limited to:
- Data Entry
- Transcribing, transmitting and placing physician orders to appropriate areas (under the direction of a Registered Nurse)
- Answering telephones – interacting with patients, families, visitors, physicians and staff
- Assisting with the patient admission process
- Ordering supplies
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- One (1) years clinical experience as a Unit Clerk or similar position. Hospital experience preferred
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organization skills required
- Above average computers skills
