Job Description
The Transmission Grid Operations Specialist will provide guidance and support for transmission system operations with a focus on reliability. This position will represent PacifiCorp on various regional public power boards, including NERC, NAESB, WECC, WPP, CAISO, and SWPP.
Main Responsibilities:
• Provide operational support as requested for network customer issues, contractual input from an operational perspective, and act as the backup administrator function for the Open Access Same-Time Information System (OASIS).
• Assist with day-to-day operational issues and merchant interfaces, including database programs (EAS, CAS, and Endur) and the energy management system (Monarch).
• Collaborate closely with the reliability coordinator on matters associated with transmission reliability.
• Work closely with adjacent balancing authority areas within the Western Interconnection to address issues and work towards quick resolution.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of seven years of experience in system operations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to listen, establish trust and maintain confidence.
• Ability to work with all organizational levels, to influence actions and negotiate outcomes.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical system operations, EMS systems (SCADA), outage management programs (iTOA), outage communication programs (OASIS), personnel procedures, budgeting and company policies and procedures.
