Job Summary
As an Operations Supervisor at PacifiCorp's Lake Side Combined Cycle Power Plant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facility. Your expertise in combined cycle technology and experience in leading teams will be invaluable in achieving our goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the power plant, including routine inspections and maintenance activities.
- Develop and implement plans to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Supervise a team of technicians and operators to ensure they have the necessary training and resources to perform their jobs effectively.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all aspects of the plant's operation are running smoothly.
- Conduct root cause analyses to identify and resolve issues affecting plant performance.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Journeyman level or equivalent technical skills/qualifications in one or more crafts (Mechanic, Electrician, Instrumentation & Control Technician or Control Room Operator).
- At least three years of experience in the operation and/or maintenance of large generating plants or similar industrial facilities or processes.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment exam which will determine applicant's knowledge and skill level of operating plant processes, electrical distribution, generation, water/steam cycles, and turbine operation.
- Effective communication skills.
- Basic proficiency with computers and related software.
- Demonstrated team working skills.
- Must be able to work a rotating shift, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be available as necessary to cover for overtime, including weekends and holidays.
- Must complete a respiratory evaluation and fit test.
- Must be physically able to perform the essential duties of the job.
