Summary of Position :
The Class B Driver is responsible for operating company vehicles in a safe manner, loading products into the vehicles and delivering products to customers throughout the Western New York and Rochester areas, completing necessary paperwork, and communicating any vehicle-related issues to management. The incumbent works within a team environment and is also responsible for excellent customer service.
Essential Functions :
- Understanding all training and safety instructions associated with the process the employee is assigned to perform.
- Following shipping and receiving paperwork.
- Determining the details of each delivery.
- Collecting and loading stock in a manner that prevents breakage.
- Ensuring that the truck has sufficient fuel at all times.
- Informing clients and your manager of potential delays.
- Delivering stock to clients on or before each deadline.
- Completing and submitting all necessary documentation.
- Keeping track of all expenses and submitting proof of expenses.
- Reporting all vehicle-related issues for urgent attention.
- Referring to and following shipping and receiving instructions on all deliveries.
- Referring to the Shipping and Receiving Shop Supervisor for any questions regarding shipping and receiving instructions.
