Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled individuals for the Maintenance Department's Mill Mechanic - Electrician role. This position requires passing a series of journeyman-level written and practical electrical exams.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, construct, install, alter, repair, store, lubricate, and maintain all electrical equipment related to production, buildings, and power transmission.
- Recognize and correct/report unusual or unsafe conditions.
- Keep work areas, equipment, and departments clean, safe, and orderly.
- Receive instruction and work assignments from supervisors for multi-skill tasks.
- Layout work and plan accordingly; obtain necessary layouts, sketches, tools, equipment, and materials.
- Operate field, shop, and mobile equipment to complete jobs efficiently.
- Use torches for cutting and heating during job performance.
- Perform tasks with other maintenance personnel or operators as required.
- Instruct and train apprentices and helpers.
- Identify and store salvageable equipment and materials.
- Drive on out-of-town and side trips as needed.
Requirements:
- Valid State of Michigan Journeyman or Master Electrician License.
