Position Summary
Directs the warehouse and/or 3PL facilities to ensure that all the inventory is managed properly for Incoming. Outgoing, and In-process materials. The duties include hiring, training and development of employees. This role will lead continuous improvement activities and participate in capital projects.
Responsibilities
• Establish operational procedures for all warehousing activities including shipping, receiving, in process material flow, disposition of materials, and warehouse inventory accuracy. Make recommendations, lead, and implement process improvements. Set department goals and standards.
• Communicate with and motivate staff in alignment with company priorities and values.
• Collaborate with other department heads and team members to ensure coordination of warehousing activity with sales, and production and in keeping with company and customer requirements and goals.
• Hire and direct the activities of warehousing staff. Determines required staffing levels and ensures effective training is completed for all employees. Mentor and develop the warehousing staff.
• Lead inventory accuracy process: cycle or physical counting.
• Implement food safety and HAACP guidelines in the warehouse; ensures the training, understanding, and conformance of all employees involved at CCP’s to food safety and HAACP guidelines within the scope of responsibilities.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) for themselves and team.
Requirements
Qualifications
• College degree in business, logistics, or other relevant disciplines, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution organization
• Supervisory experience, good coaching/training skills
• Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data and make recommendations.
• Committed to quality and safety standards.
