What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bridge Inspector - MTA position at PACO Group?
PACO Group is seeking an experienced Inspector to support our team on a high-priority project with the MTA Construction & Development (MTA C&D) Bridges and Tunnels (B&T) Business Unit. The selected candidate will provide inspection services during the construction of a Salt Shed and Bay Window Roof Replacement at the Henry Hudson Bridge. This role involves close coordination with contractors, third-party stakeholders, and MTA C&D personnel to ensure quality, schedule adherence, and contract compliance.
Project Duration: 3 Months
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee contractor mobilization and construction start-up activities.
- Review contractor schedules, including baseline and monthly updates.
- Analyze and comment on schedule impacts related to delays, change orders, and potential conflicts.
- Maintain contract documents and track as-built conditions.
- Prepare independent change order estimates and support change management efforts.
- Monitor and document construction progress through reports, photographs, and videos.
- Coordinate field activities with other ongoing projects and third-party stakeholders.
- Track and verify deliverables including shop drawings, as-builts, and warranties.
- Maintain non-conformance logs and support resolution of deficiencies.
- Lead and document field inspections, safety assessments, and punch list reviews.
- Assist in project closeout, substantial completion certification, and final documentation delivery.
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant construction inspection experience.
- OSHA 30-Hour Safety Training certification required.
- Strong communication, technical writing, project coordination, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
