Office Engineer - MTA Rockaways

Hourly Rate: $30-40 PACO Group, Inc. is seeking an Office Engineer to support our construction management team on the C35327 Rockaway project in Rockaway, Queens. As a minority-owned, full-service Program and Construction Management firm with over 30 years of experience, PACO Group provides a range of services from pre-construction planning through construction execution. This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to key infrastructure projects in New York City, working closely on both the pre-construction and construction phases to ensure quality and efficiency in project delivery. Responsibilities Apply Preconstruction standards and procedures. Assist with conceptual estimating of preliminary preconstruction pursuits. Review design documents and complete an accurate quantity take-off for assigned scopes of work. Review design documents and identify scope items with cost implications. Identify and resolve design conflicts and missing information by preparing, tracking, submitting, and distributing preconstruction requests for Information RFI’s. Identify and solicit the correct subcontractors regarding involvement/ interest in preconstruction pursuits. Communicate persistently with subcontractors regarding involvement/interest in preconstruction pursuits and diligently follow up to review project scope and pricing. Review design iterations, addendums, updates, etc., and identify changes in scope that may result in cost changes. Update internal documents (COB and estimate) to reflect the changes and adequately communicate said changes to subcontractors to insure inclusion in subcontractor’s pricing. Make sure subcontractors received updated design documents. Help identify and prequalify new subcontractors. Assist with the generation of preliminary preconstruction pursuit schedules. Generate Meeting progress minutes. Assist with purchasing and issuance of subcontracts and purchase orders as well as any related activities designated by the supervisor. Research. Design Abilities (creating technical drawings, protocols, and guidelines). Software Requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is a must. Auto-CAD desired Primavera is a plus. Required Qualifications Bs. Degree in Civil engineering, Construction Management, Architectural or related field from an accredited college. OSHA 30. 1-3 Years of experience working as an Office Engineer is preferred. Location: Rockaway, Queens.
