Job Summary
The Business Office Supervisor plays a critical role in managing the day-to-day operations of the business office. Key responsibilities include obtaining managed care and Medi-Cal or Medicaid authorizations, managing resident trust funds, supervising business office staff, maintaining census reports, and participating in billing and payment processes.
Responsibilities
- Obtain managed care and Medi-Cal or Medicaid authorizations, including bedholds.
- Assist with managing resident trust fund, including printing and distributing monthly statements.
- Supervise business office staff, including taking appropriate disciplinary measures.
- Maintain census and report status changes.
- Participate in billing and payment processes, including preparing bank deposits.
- Undertake collection activity for bad debts.
Supervisory Requirements
Assist with the overall supervision and management of the business office staff.
Qualification
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: One year experience in a long term care facility preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of skilled nursing billing and payment.
- Proficient in Microsoft products and computer skills.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Knowledge and experience with PCC is preferred.
Physical Demands
The essential functions of this position require prolonged use of a computer, standing, walking, sitting, reaching, pushing/pulling, talking/hearing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
The work environment is typically low to moderate noise level.
