Job Description
The Medication Aide will provide exceptional care to residents by ensuring the safe and accurate administration of medications. Key responsibilities include:
- FOLLOWING FACILITY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: Adhere to established guidelines for medication administration, including labeling and documentation requirements.
- VERIFICATION AND ADMINISTRATION: Verify resident identity before administering medication, accurately measure and record vital signs, and ensure proper disposal of expired or unused medications.
- MEDICATION MANAGEMENT: Assist in developing and implementing procedures to prevent medication errors, participate in quality assurance programs, and cooperate with facility surveys and inspections.
- DOCUMENTATION AND REPORTING: Maintain accurate records of medication administration, document any instances of refused or unadministered medication, and promptly notify supervisors of errors or reactions.
