Salary Range: $21.00 to 23.00 an hour

PACT MSO has a busy Gastroenterology office that is a Medical Administrative Assistant. The positions are located in Hamden, Milford and Guilford and will be rotating between all the office locations. Work hours will be Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.
The Medical Administrative Assistant position supports a department, provider, or manager by performing duties as directed.
Essential Functions
- Assist with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, follow up, etc.
- Responsible for schedule utilization, cancelation and wait list management
- Coordinates tests, procedures, and lab appointments for patients
- Provide patients with information and respond to patient inquiries
- Schedule and coordinate meetings
- Assist with all patient portal questions
- Obtain and confirm demographics and patients insurance
- Reconcile charges in EHR daily
- Obtain authorizations or referrals
- Communicate information appropriately, accurately, and timely
- Create, obtain, and maintain provider reports and distributes to appropriate staff, management, facilities and providers
- Identify and communicate inconsistencies of information in reports to appropriate staff
- Trains other administrative assistants
- Ensure all agreements and contracts are up to date
- Enter patient information in EHR
- Handles all patient prescriptions ordered by providers
- Sort our requests from patients and pharmacies for medication refills
- Obtain prior authorization for medication as needed
- Maintain samples.

- 2-5 years of experience in a medical office setting as an administrative assistant preferred
