Position Description:
- Seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner.
- This position offers hands-on consultation training and the Clinical Specialist role, providing a unique opportunity for professional growth in vascular care.
- Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a 100% outpatient position -- no hospital work, no call.
NP Consult Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including reviewing medical history, risk factors, and symptoms related to Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD).
- Perform focused physical examinations to assess vascular health, including pulse checks, ankle-brachial index (ABI), and other diagnostic assessments.
- Collaborate with a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) to interpret vascular ultrasound results and determine disease severity.
- Work closely with a Medical Assistant (MA) to ensure efficient patient flow, documentation, and patient education.
- Diagnose PAD and determine the need for revascularization procedures, such as angiograms and atherectomies.
- Educate patients about PAD, potential treatment options, and long-term vascular health management.
- Communicate effectively with referring physicians and interventional specialists to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain thorough documentation of patient encounters, diagnoses, and treatment recommendations in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Exhibit a charismatic and assertive approach to patient care and team collaboration to drive high-quality outcomes and patient compliance.
- To be successful in this role, the NP must be a strong communicator, confident in decision-making, and persuasive in guiding patients toward appropriate treatment pathways.
- From time to time, the NP will participate in marketing
Clinical Specialist Duties:
- Obtaining and monitoring vital signs & pedal pulses
- Preparing the groin for access
- Monitor access site, assuring hemostasis
- Discharging the patient home
- Documenting all information in our EMR.
- Inventory and supply management
- Procedure Room Circulator
- Patient flow is running smoothly
- Making sure the patient has followed all pre-procedure guidelines
- Reviewing patient charts, labs, H&P
- Dispensing medications
- Documenting the procedure and building the report.
- Handling patient complications
- This position requires a high level of medical knowledge and experience.
- Obtaining H&P and medication list
Location/Travel:
- Based in Beaumont, Texas
- Travel for training may be required.
- Occasional travel for coverage optional
Schedule:
- Full-time (32-40hrs per week)
- Monday-Friday, Saturdays (1-2 times a month)
