Padilla is seeking an Account Executive (AE) to work within our Corporate Advisory Group in our Richmond, Minneapolis office. An AE understands the fundamentals of public relations, marketing and communications and has a solid grasp of the current media landscape. This role will support our Financial Communications, Critical Issues Management, Employee Engagement and Social Impact teams with a specific emphasis on clients in the finance sector working on brand and reputation management.

Padilla is seeking an Account Executive (AE) to work within our Corporate Advisory Group in our Richmond, Minneapolis office. An AE understands the fundamentals of public relations, marketing and communications and has a solid grasp of the current media landscape. This role will support our Financial Communications, Critical Issues Management, Employee Engagement and Social Impact teams with a specific emphasis on clients in the finance sector working on brand and reputation management.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Writing and editing copy, conducting marketing research and analyzing data
- Establishing good working relationships with clients, the media and vendors
- Working on projects related to brand management, thought leadership, corporate citizenship and stakeholder relations
- Developing project budgets and timelines accurately and managing projects within budgets and deadlines with assistance from supervisors
- Assisting in developing presentations, delivering new business presentations, and participating in outreach
- Pitching stories and building good relationships with key media who are important to clients
- Understanding new digital and social media and how to effectively use it to achieve client objectives
- Overseeing work done by assistant account executives
- Managing up: making sure your supervisors are doing their part so that your needs are being met and you are being supported in delivering upon your obligations to clients, colleagues, the media, business partners, etc.
- Joining a marketing/communications professional organization and/or a client industry trade organization and attending functions staged by these groups for the purpose of professional skills/knowledge development, agency promotion and new business prospecting for Padilla
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
- Two or more years of professional experience; agency setting preferred
- An interest in brand and reputation management and the financial sector
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Solid business acumen with a desire to learn more about all modes of business communications such as finance and accounting, public company, financial products and services communications
- Good time management skills
- Demonstrated desire for continuous learning
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and occasionally operate office equipment
- Ability to travel as needed
