Paducah & Louisville Railway, Inc. has an open position in Paducah, KY for a Customer Service Representative. This position is responsible for supporting train operations by crew calling, scheduling and assigning train and engine service employees in accordance with FRA, AAR, and Company rules, policies and regulations. All necessary safety procedures, guidelines and policies must be adhered to in the performance of the tasks assigned to this position as set forth below
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Understand and adhere to operating rules, safety rules, policies, procedures and regulations and ensure safe and efficient movement of all on track equipment.
- Maintaining relationships with customers by assisting them with freight car movements, notifications, and verifying the accurate completion of billing information.
- Responsible for assuring that customer railcars move in the correct manner.
- Calling crews to work when trains are listed and recording crew approved unavailability.
- Prepares miscellaneous invoices for billing.
Position requirements include:
- Strong computer and phone skills
- Work hours will vary in schedule. Work hours will include a nonstandard workweek, overtime and shiftwork including nights and weekends.
- Working along and independently with minimal supervision, manage time effectively and maintain control over multiple projects and responsibilities.
- Working under time pressure to meet strict deadlines
- Working sitting for long periods of time with infrequent breaks
- Collective bargaining agreement with membership required which determines specific job duties, work assignments, and work locations
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
