Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical care during emergency and non-emergency medical transports, including ground and air ambulance services.
- Assess, monitor, and manage critically ill or injured patients during transport.
- Administer medications, initiate IV therapy, and perform advanced medical interventions as permitted by state scope of practice and medical direction.
- Collaborate with paramedics, EMTs, and other medical personnel to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Communicate with hospitals, physicians, and dispatch centers to relay patient conditions and obtain necessary medical guidance.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient care documentation in compliance with EMS protocols and regulations.
- Operate and maintain medical equipment, ensuring it is in working order after and after each transport.
- Provide training, mentorship, and education to EMS staff regarding advanced clinical care and best practices.
- Adhere to all company policies, state regulations, and industry standards related to EMS and nursing practice.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, case reviews, and continuing education programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Ensure proper infection control measures are followed to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
