Job Description :
Verify all demographic and insurance information. Requires utilization of various electronic verification systems and
making phone calls to obtain demographic and insurance information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Utilize various resources to locate insurance payers for ambulance transportationContact the hospital, patient's family, and / or patient to obtain insurance informationFax partner hospitals requests for informationValidate and update patient demographics in the practice management systemResponsible for the accurate entry of data into the practice management systemThis position requires specialist to spend extended periods of time on the phone with insurance companiesPerforming other duties as assigned.Qualifications :
Knowledge in Medicare, Medicaid and / or MVA, VA and Insurance Billing experience preferredExperience working with insurance portalsKnowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)Knowledge of medical terminologyProficient with a PCAbility to work independently and with a groupWorking knowledge of MS Word, ExcelAbility to maintain effective working relationships.Thorough knowledge of office practicesAbility to type at least 35 words per minute.Ability to multi-taskProficiency using 10 keyEducation and Experience Requirements :
High School Diploma or equivalentOther Requirements :
Must have access to high-speed internetAble to travel occasionally to Oklahoma City for training and educationPhysical Requirements :
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and otherfederal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and / or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and localstandards.
