- Providing legal advice and services to management and business departments concerning commercial banking transactions, vendor agreements, litigation matters, legal and regulatory requirements and expectations, and corporate governance issues.
- Drafting, negotiating and reviewing complex legal documents pertaining to commercial banking, credit and vendors
- Working closely with business lines to ensure the timely identification and mitigation of business, legal and regulatory risks
- Assigning, monitoring and providing guidance to outside counsel handling commercial transactions and litigation
- Reviewing, drafting and updating internal policies and procedures
- Handling civil information subpoenas, grand jury subpoenas, restraining orders, governmental, judicial and other inquiries, requests and orders
- Actively participating in risk management, including without limitation
- Actively participating in other daily work/tasks of the legal team as needed
Profile
- JD
- Admitted to NY State Bar
- 6 years of experience within financial services legal, ideally gained at a top law firm and in-house within banking
- Experience advising on a wide range of commercial credit and finance transactions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team player
- Fluency in Mandarin a plus
