What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tasting Room Staff position at Pail Shop Vineyards?
We are a small winery near Cooperstown, NY looking for additional tasting room staff to join our team!
Help is needed mid-April through November. Summer only is also possible and could be perfect for teachers and graduate students.
Shifts are are available Wednesday through Sunday and are 6.5 hours long, from 12pm to 6:30pm . We're flexible and can accommodate weekends-only or weekdays-only. Ideally, the best candidate will have some flexibility and availability for both.
Our winery is in a beautiful, scenic location and has a friendly, supportive atmosphere with wonderful staff.
You must be at least 21 years of age but wine experience NOT necessary. We will train!
Tasting Room Staff responsibilities include pouring wine and talking with customers but also requires tasks associated with opening and closing (glass washing, sweeping, mopping, etc.). Multitasking and people skills are a must!
Base pay is $14 per hour and you also make tips, so that total salaries generally range between $18-$28 per hour, depending on the shift.
Summary
As a tasting room staff member, you'll be essential in creating an inviting atmosphere for our guests while ensuring everyone has a wonderful experience at our winery. No prior wine experience is required. This is a great job for anyone eager to learn about wine and work in a genuine, small-batch, hands-on vineyard and winery. It is an active environment where you're expected to engage with visitors, share your knowledge of our wine, and ensure a memorable tasting experience for our guests. You will sometimes work with staff and sometimes work alone but are always expected to maintain a clean, orderly, inviting space that is customer focussed, friendly, inviting and shares a love of wine.
