The Chief Operating Officer (COO) provides vision, leadership, engagement, and organizational direction and management of its clinical service programs, departments, and functions. This position ensures strategies within areas of accountability are in alignment with the ASL Strategic Plan and imperatives. The COO is engaged in and accountable for leadership and management of the functions assigned under the direction of the President and acts as a surrogate leader in the absence of the President.

Qualifications :
- Master's Degree in related field preferred, with related background and work experience required.
- Proven leadership experience in a senior management role within the nonprofit or healthcare sector.
- Possess skills related to leadership and management; strong people skills.
- Strong financial management skills, including budget development and fundraising experience.
- Culturally knowledgeable and sensitive; able to work with diverse staff and clientele. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in both internal and external practices.
The Chief Operating Officer embraces the vision of the Organization as established by the Board; oversees the day-to-day operations; coalesces support around the Organization’s direction and priorities among Board, staff, and other key stakeholders; secures funding for priority initiatives; provides effective supervision, delegation, and accountability of staff; serves as an active and visible liaison to the community; and collaborates with the public garden community nationally and globally regarding best practices in sustainability and vision.
