What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioners position at Pain Medicine of the South, PLLC?
A growing and dynamic comprehensive Pain Management Clinic is currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner responsible for providing care, including medical diagnosis and treatment, to adult patients presenting with chronic pain problems.
In addition, the NP will assist with and facilitate interventional pain procedures. To accomplish these goals the NP will work both autonomously and in collaboration with the programs physicians and staff.
Position Responsibilities:
- Follows established procedure in accordance with the organizations philosophy, policies, and standard physician orders in managing pain for the patient.
- Obtains health histories and performs physical examinations with timely and appropriate documentation in the EMR.
- Works collaboratively with all patients of the clinic to ensure continuity of care of the patient.
- Coordinates staff and physician involvement in the assessment, treatment, education and continuing care of the patient.
- Orders, conducts and interprets laboratory and imaging diagnostic studies.
- Prescribes or recommends pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies including controlled medications that are warranted by the patient’s medical condition.
- Provides direct patient care and management for patients requiring opioids.
- Teaches and counsels patient and family regarding medical diagnosis and treatment.
- Develops and participates in quality initiatives as determined by management.
Assists the physician with interventional pain procedures and documentation of procedures when required
Education:
- National Certification as Nurse Practitioner
- Current BLS, ACLS certification
Experience:
- Interest and experience in the specialty of chronic pain management- experience preferred but not required.
