Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

We are seeking a full time "experienced medical billing /collection specialist". EPIC experience is required, and SIS experience is preferred. In this position you will work closely with the billing manager, CEO, physicians, and other staff. [Minimum 1-2 years’ experience required.]

Responsibilities:

· Translate medical documentation into alphanumeric medical code

· A/R experience, collect, post, and manage patient account payments.

· Patient Account Collections

· Research Billing Issues

· Prepare and review patient statements.

· Review delinquent accounts and call for collection purposes; communicate with patients over the phone daily. Patient collection for both PSSO and CLSC

· Maintain strict confidentiality.

· Sort and file paperwork.

· Have full understanding of RVUs, CF, fee schedule, and allowable schedules

· Handle information about patient treatment, diagnosis, and related procedures to ensure proper coding.

· Know several different coding systems, including Level 1 HCPCS, Level 2 HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, CPT Professional.

· Use electronic medical record system to read and organize charts.

· AR follow up.

· Research and resolve rejected claims and file appeals.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· 1-2 years’ experience in medical billing (must have no less than 1 year).

· EPIC Computer/MyChart 1- 2 years’ experience Preferred

· Orthopedic or Interventional Pain Management billing experience is preferred

· 1-2 years of medical terminology.

· Experienced in CPT and ICD-10.

· PM and EHR experience required.

· Detailed Oriented, Multitask, Phones

· Full Understanding of Insurance and their websites

Full Understanding of EOB’s and how to read them.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
