GOLDEN ISLES PAINT & SUPPLY is seeking a Counter Associate with strong communication and customer service skills. This position will be responsible for performing a high level of customer service activities within a fast-paced store environment, working one-on-one with customers, selling product to walk-in customers, and proactively calling preferred end-user customers. This role involves heavy focus on custom paints and specialty coatings for Marine, Industrial, and Architectural customers, as well as associated products and equipment. Candidates must submit to a drug screen and meet acceptable Motor Vehicle Report requirements upon hiring process.

Qualifications:
- Must have experience and be able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work with a high level of in-store customers sales
- Must have basic computer and match skills.
- Must have the ability to accurately identify and match colors for custom paint mixing.
- Ability to accurately process cash and credit card transactions while properly maintaing a cash drawer.
- Conducts self in professional manner to ensure customers’ quality and service expectations are met
Responsibilities
- Greet and advise customers on the seletion of paint products and their uses
- Assist customers over the phone and in-store with questions and orders related to architectural, commercial, and industrial paint products and coating materials.
- Prepares custom paint orders, including mixing, utilizing standard formulas and custom formulas
- Mixes paint and prepares customer orders for delivery/pick-up (aprons and gloves provided)
- Reconciles inventory and stocks merchandise in store
- Provides sales support to outside sales team
- Maintains customer records and files, including accurate account setup and pricing
- Clean and maintain all areas and equipment as assigned. Ensures maintenance of mixing equipment as needed
- Maintains Color Room records including non-conformance report, tint usage, can usage, mis-tints, etc. and perform necessary inventory transfers
- Properly dispose of waste materials and product in compliance with Company and Governmental regulations
- Assist with inventory and processing of incoming stock
Additional Duties:
- Load and unload materials for customers, including moving product to/from delivery vehicles.
- Occasionally deliver products to customers safely and efficiently using a company provided vehicle (pick-up or van)
- Effectively collaborate with coworkers and management to maintain a smooth workflow
- Perform miscellaneous tasks around the paint store such as stocking, cleaning, working with inventory, etc.
Requirements
Additional Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills preferred
- 1 year(s) of Customer Service, Inside Sales, or Counter Sales with paint industry knowledge
- Must have a clean driving record and valid license
- Must be punctual and dependable
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Requires the physical ability to lift at least 50 lbs of Paint and Paint products frequently.
- Physical requirements include standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, walking, reaching overhead, gripping, squatting, and carrying the product to and from the delivery area to customer vehicles, as well as, to areas within the store.
- Tolerable to the smell of paint
- Candidates must submit to and pass a drug screen and meet acceptable Motor Vehicle Report requirements upon hiring process.
