What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Sales Associate position at Pak Mail?
Our store needs someone immediately who is detail oriented with excellent customer service and sales skills, someone who can embrace our credo – “We are ladies and gentlemen serving our friends and neighbors to ensure their treasures arrive at the proper destination safely and on time.”
You will learn how to properly package items for our customers so the item will survive the rigors of the shipping system. You will determine the best way to ship the item (UPS, FedEx, USPS, Freight, etc.) and be responsible for making it happen. Additionally, you will be responsible for keeping the store neat and clean, restocking retail inventory, and correctly sorting mail and packages for our mailbox customers.
The ideal person will have experience in providing customer solutions, a positive, can-do attitude, be detail oriented, able to make proper change, accurately type 35-40 WPM, be a quick learner, and have some amount of mechanical ability as we make custom boxes (Don't let that part scare you, it's not hard and we’ll train you.) You must also be able to safely lift 40-50 lbs. unaided, be at least 21 years old, and have a valid driver’s license with a clean record. All training is provided, although prior experience is a definite plus. Must be a South Carolina Notary Public or willing to become a Notary Public.
For most of the year, you will work 12 to 24 hours a week. Once fully trained and able to work alone, you will work every other Saturday 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM, with a day off during the week and weekday hours will up to 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Additionally, you will need to be flexible enough to work additional hours occasionally when others need time off. During the December holiday season hours are closer to full time. Growth to full time is a future possibility, based on business needs.
