What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher position at Pakachoag Acres?
The Teacher is a member of the direct care staff and is responsible for the daily operation of a classroom to foster the development of children in our care. The Teacher works under and follows the directions of the Lead Teacher, Team Leader and/or Site Director and follows all federal, state, and local regulations as well as the policies and procedures of Pakachoag Acres. The Teacher must be able to work cooperatively with all levels of staff and families. This position is non exempt full or part time position and may be combined with other positions within the agency to create a full time position. The Teacher must possess all the mental and physical attributes to carry out all required functions of the position.
The minimum qualifications of a Teacher are:
1 Must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent
2 Successfully completed 9 credits in child growth and development or equivalent course
3 Hold a valid EEC Certificate indicating T in I/T and/or PS (dependant on position held)
4 At least 12 months experience in a center based program working directly with children
5 Have the ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff
6 No disqualifying CORI or DCF background check
7 CPR and first aid certified (may be done within 6 months of start date)
8 Meet the health and reference requirements of EEC and Pakachoag Acres
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.48 - $20.41 per hour
