JOB DESCRIPTION
Title : On-Call Senior Bus Driver
Department / Division : Seniors
Status : Hourly / On-call (days, times, and length of travel time varies and is not consistent)
Supervisor : Senior Director
Subordinates : None
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Senior Driver will be responsible for driving the community's senior citizens around to appointments and longer extended trips. The Driver must be very courteous and helpful to all passengers. The Senior Driver must have an excellent driving record and be a very safe driver.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Operate Class B vehicles in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintain logs of working hours
- Comply with all applicable traffic laws and regulations
- Inspect and maintain vehicles and equipment
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Help other drivers as needed
- Drive seniors on day trips or longer trips
- Manage schedule with the Senior Department Director
- Help seniors in and out of the vehicles and assist with any bags or other items they may be carrying at all times
- Make sure vehicles are filled up with gas at all times
- Keep vehicles stocked with water and sodas
- Clean up the van after each trip
- Make sure no items were left inside the van
- Be courteous and very helpful to all passengers
- Perform other duties as assigned.
