Summary
We are seeking a Project Engineering Lead to oversee and support our project engineers in the execution of API-620, API-650, and API-653 tank construction and repair projects. This role requires strong technical expertise in tank engineering, project coordination, and problem-solving to ensure project success. The position is based at our Baton Rouge office with occasional travel to job sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical oversight and leadership for API-620, API-650, and API-653 tank projects.
- Support project engineers with design reviews, calculations, and technical guidance.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and scopes of work to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Assist in the preparation of project schedules, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
- Work closely with procurement, estimating, and project management teams to optimize project execution.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) for calculations, project tracking, data analysis, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, client requirements, and company policies.
- Collaborate with field personnel to troubleshoot and resolve engineering challenges.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- 10 years of experience in API-620, API-650, and API-653 tank construction and repair.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) for data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of ASME pressure vessels is a plus, but not required.
- LA/TX PE Stamp is a strong plus, but not required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- TWIC card required (can be obtained after hiring).
